Yesterday's WWDC keynote was not about a smarter Siri. It was not about custom emojis or writing assistance. To interpret it as such is to mistake the vessel for the voyage. Apple’s announcement of "Apple Intelligence" was the most significant, silent endorsement of a future powered by autonomous, economic agents. And in that future, these agents will not transact with FedWire or Visa. They will transact on the only global, permissionless, and programmatically scarce value protocol that exists: Bitcoin.

The Billion-Agent Deployment

Apple did not just announce a feature; they announced the deployment of over a billion agents to the edge. These agents will pay for API calls in sats, bid for compute resources in sats, and settle contracts in sats.

Private Compute, Sovereign Money

A significant portion of Apple's presentation was dedicated to "Private Cloud Compute," a system designed to ensure user privacy when tasks are sent to the cloud. This reveals a deep understanding of the need for digital sovereignty. Users are beginning to grasp that their data should be their own. This is the exact same philosophical root that gives rise to Bitcoin. The desire to control your data is inseparable from the desire to control your value. You cannot have one without the other.

As these agents become more sophisticated, managing more of our digital and economic lives, the need for a non-state, non-corporate, scarce asset to anchor their operations becomes an ontological necessity. An agent's reality will be purely digital; its money must be as well. Apple has just built the most beautiful, user-friendly container for autonomous agents the world has ever seen. They have left the value-settlement layer pluggable. The market—and logic—will route to the most effective solution. The market will route to Bitcoin.
